Blackened Recipe - need suggestions

Need a good blackened spice recipe. Found one online and it was way too spicy.

I buy Paul Prudomme's blackening seasoning and it's fine.
The recipe from his original cookbook is in the link below. If you're squeamish about pepper, just cut it a bit, but I find that once you blacken the seasoning, it's not nearly as potent as it is before cooking.
