Can any of you gents suggest a good river to spend a few days floating and camping on?

I went to the buffalo river last summer and wouldn't mind going back, but I am looking for new options. I want to bring my lab with me and I'm looking to drive up to 10-12 hours from BR/LC.

Consider me interested, as well. I've also done the Buffalo, which is nice. I recently stumbled upon the Black Creek Canoe website and I plan on making a trip when it cools off in the fall. Too damn hot to camp anymore this year.

I'd also like to look into doing an Atchafalaya basin trip.

When we were on the Buffalo last year it was late june or early july and the day time temps were breaking records for that time of the year. It was hovering around 100 every day. At night it dropped to a solid 60-65. I just slept in my hammock with scrubs and a long sleeve t-shirt and felt amazing.

Yeah, I was more talking about that spot in Mississippi. The Buffalo is cool and shaded enough to stay comfortable. Not so sure about southern Mississippi in June.

We used to do Okatoma when we were in high school. Some of my best memories. The long run is 19 miles and you camp overnight overlooking a waterfall. This was 17 years ago though.

I did a 15 mile day trip on the Little Missouri River in kayaks south of Murfreesboro, AR. It is definitely a 2+ day trip, not a one day like we did it. We had a blast. Water is dam-fed and cool even in the summer.

Also, look into the Homochitto in MS. It has great float fishing when the conditions cooperate.
