What ever happened to this guy? Has he healed from his injury and is ready to play? When we originally got him i remeber he was coming off a good season with the rams and is only 27

He was playing well in the preseason before he go hurt. He was a Spags guy, so I don't know how he fits in the 3-4. Maybe outside, but he seem like he'll be an odd man out.

Yeah, sucked to see him go down for the year in just a preseason game. He'll be nice ILB depth to have in case we have another rash of LB injury like last year

Herring, Austin Johnson, and him all look like odd 3-4 fits. I think Reddick and Thomas win out over them as long as they can contribute decently on special teams.

Ran a 4.69 at 270. Not bad. Saints have him as a LB but he played DE mostly in a 4-3 in college.

Right now I have Chris Chamberlain as a slight favorite to win the 4th & final Inside LB spot over UFA Kevin Reddick. I think Reddick is redshirted & stashed on IR or the practice squad.

He seems too big to play outside. Would he play inside? Would he be on the practice squad for a year or two and gain weight to play that DE spot?

This pick really was out of left field.

How many LBs will they keep on the 53 man roster? Guessing 6 or 7?
Lofton
Hawthorne
Butler
Galette
Wilson
Vilma
One more for special teams

Dallas kept 8 LB's last year 4 OLB's & 4 ILB's. I think we might actually keep 9 around (5 OLB's cause we have no Ware or Spencer)

ILB
Loften
Hawthorne
Vilma
Chamberlain or Reddick

OLB
Butler
Galette
Wilson
Smith
Rufus or Chase or Romeus or Eric Martin

Now that we are in a 3-4 we likely keep more than that. We kept 6 or 7 in a 4-3.

My guess is 3 NTs, 4 or 5 DEs, and 8 or 9 LBs. At least 2 deep at each LB spot. Some of the linemen will be versatile too so we likely stay on the low end and keep 4 DEs.

I think what we do at safety will also affect LB. We'll likely keep 4 or 5 with 5 CBs.

That'll be about 25 or 26 defensive players. Offense might have a small impact on that also, especially what we do at TE and WR.

If you place a player on the practice squad can't they be claimed by another team? If Reddick meets the potential that he was at least labeled with by "analysts" I seem him making it since he is a 3-4 linebacker. Payton said, it's all about the special teams performance though for non-starters, and if I remember correctly Chamberlain was labeled as a special teams ace wasn't he? Will be interesting regardless.
