Maybe he would be favored, although I doubt it, he would get knocked out by any of those three in their prime.

If JM is not top 5 then neither is Brady or Manning.

Bill Russell is the GOAT bb player.

Tiger Woods is NOT the GOAT in any way.

If he DOES win 18 majors, he is only tied. If he wins 19, then tip your cap. He's got it. But ONLY then.

JACK IS GOAT.

insert the Ric Flair "be the man beat the man" line.

Pete Maravich is the only player that would be better in today's game than he was in his own time.

Disagree here.

In fact, that would be my unpopular sports opinion. The culottes are much better than the Daisy Dukes.

i feel dirty somewhat agreeing, but i used to make the same argument with lennox lewis in his prime

it's just the evolution of the sport

I disagree with the Klitschko thing. The golden age of boxing-Ali, Frazier, Foreman, etc were the best. Thats the only era when the best athletes went into boxing. Watching old fights, i cant imagine anyone today hanging with those guys.

But for every other sport, i think the talent level has increased dramatically and we are seeing the best ever.

I'll go one further. The only reason Tebow does not start is because NFL teams would rather fail in a traditional way than try something new and risk criticism. Tebow shows how intellectually bankrupt most bad teams are (I'm not gonna blame a good team for failing to take a shot on something different, but some place like Buffalo or Jacksonville?)

I agree

the issue is the evolution of the strategy of the sport. the super HWs have created the most efficient (and boring, mind you) sytle of boxing. low risk, defensive boxing. they will point you over 12 rounds

the super height/reach of the super HWs, along with their powerful jabs, create distance problems for pretty much any historical HW. jab, jab, jab, hug, defense, jab, jab, jab, hug, etc

i love watching prime tyson, but he stands no chance. a bigger guy like foreman could do something, but he wasn't disciplined enough and relied too much on the KO. ali in his prime v. this style would be fun to watch, but i think would ultimately result in a 12-round point victory for ther klitch
