The Black Keys have already outlived their relevancy by about a year, and yet, they play on the radio every 5 songs or so, and are on every other commercial.
The Black Keys are, IMO, almost as awful as Mumford and Sons, and are similar to them in that:
They allow traditional pop-exclusive listeners to act like they are well-rounded and musically aware, when, in fact, these bands are extremely pedestrian in terms of talent.

Im not a big Widespread fan, I mean they aren't bad, but I don't see them as better than many other mid-level band.

Phish, I put on level of doors, Hendrix, talking heads Velet Underground, Jackson browne, Pink Floyd as my favorites.

I understand Trey Anastasio is arguably one of the best living guitarists right now, but I just find their stuff too self-gratifying. Do you really need that 15 minute guitar solo?

"Sledgehammer" by Peter Gabriel is not a good song. A boring pedestrian melody.

Meh, I don't think it's near as dumb as choosing to shite on Radiohead and Pink Floyd whilst giving props to Blink-182.

I log since gave up tying to convince people why phish was so awesome. I just love the unrivaled complexity of their stuff and the improvisation which I think is unmatched except by some of the other best ever.

My over-rated list includes :

Springsteen
U2
Tim McGraw
Michael McDonald (worst thing that ever happened to the Doobie Brothers)
Duran Duran
Cher

I'm sure I could come up with more but this should get me bashed pretty good.

I agree with all of those, but don't know how highly rated some of the last few are.

And as long as we're on the jam band subject:

Disco Biscuits really are the best at what they do. You can not be into their music and I get that, but you can't deny they are (or used to be) the best at the very specific genre they play.

Yes. I've got a fever and it's my only prescription.

Well, duh.

Unpopular opinion though given the record sales.

Agreed, but not as big a range as Wilco. One of those things I'd say on the internet but never in person.

David Chapman did the world a favor. Now John's known for his peace and love and not for beating and cheating on his first wife and being an overall prick. Now we can love what he made and not who he was.
