It takes more documentation to get a free round of golf than it does to get benefits from the government? Times are tough

The other thing you could do is be David Toms.

After shooting my best round of the year a few days ago, I may have just ruined any progress I had made. A new golf store in the area was giving out free 45 min lessons from a local pro and I had some free time so I went. I left there so confused. It was interesting to see what I do wrong, but the process of changing it is gonna be a nightmare. Amazing that I have played to about a 9 handicap for the last 5 years with a swing that fosters inconsistency.

I read a while back that there is no right swing, just a swing that is right for you that is based on a few fundamentals. Sounds about right because Furyk has a god-awful swing but apparently gets the club where it needs to be at impact

When I was in middle/high school I had a baseball coach who said the same thing, but for some reason he wanted everyone to have the exact same stance and swing. cost me a couple years of good hitting because it went against everything I did (planted back foot, high right elbow, uppercut swing). Went back to my old swing and started hitting again. Sometimes teaching can do more harm than good

I had my baseball swing changed from the high elbow to elbow down against my side (Ted Williams Style) by Joe Brockhoff when I was in high school....best move I ever made. changing golf swings is even tougher to get used to.

I was exactly the opposite, as soon as I could plant my back foot and get my elbow back up in the air I got better instantly.

ETA: and unfortunately I carry some of those into my golf swing

See and I was always taught to point the knob at the catcher which IMO helped in golf with wrist hinge.

Tigger is. He did have a solid front 9, 37

The torrential downpour came on 16 late yesterday... we're scheduled to tee off at 5 pm tonight to finish up. Tournament will be reduced to 54 holes.

I did shoot 37 on the front, but hit a stretch of bogies on the back and am currently +6 thru 15 mostly due to putting myself in bad positions off the tee.

I'm playing with two amateurs (both days) that are likely both going to make the cut. It's nice playing with two good young guys that play the game correctly. I'd just like to say that I would normally consider myself to be a pretty decent golfer, not great by any stretch, but a pretty good, if not respectable among average Joe's. Over the last two days I've come to the hard realization that I just don't possess the talent in my feable little body to be able to do this shite for a living even if I had the ability to practice full time. Dream shattered. lol. The guys that do are pretty damn awesome, including the ones you've never heard of before. The ones who struggle to make it each week while living out of motels and looking for laundry mats along the way for a $1500 top 20 finish. Hats off to those guys for living their dream. I hope they have rich parents, sugar momma's or the like subsidizing them. If not, I don't know how they do it.

Quick story, I had two pro's playing behind me that were absolutely BOMBING the ball off the tee, putting it in places I don't see people driving it to in bone dry - hardpan - conditions. The fairways we're hitting to have absolutely no roll... standing water everywhere. One cat landed on the fringe of the green on #9 (playing from the tips) while I was putting. I was too impressed to be mad. . On the same hole I was 108 out and had a decent (260 or so) yard drive. For reference, I had a decent drive on #1 and still had a smooth 200 to a pin in the middle of the green. I'm sure the ol' boy from #9 probably had a wedge in his hand.

To say this week has been a challenge would be putting it lightly. In the end I've come to the realization that #1, I'm just not THAT good and #2, on the rare occasions when I am THAT good, I'm not that consistent.

I had one highlight of this week and that was hitting it to 1" of a hole in one of #5. Had 208 to the hole and flushed a 4 hybrid to 3" behind the hole where it promptly backed up 3" to finish 1" to the right of the hole. Had it backed up to the left I would have been buying drinks for everyone and recorded my first ever hole in one in a professional event. But instead I can at least say I was able to finish #5 at a net score of -1 over 2 days.
