I will preface by saying that I really like Kill Bill 2 and Jackie Brown with Django being a pretty solid film. I just never understood the obsession with Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs, they seem to be the two biggest cult followings.

As far as his writing goes, I really liked Dusk til Dawn and True Romance but both weren't directed by him.

So am I the only person around that isn't a big Tarantino fan and wouldn't go see a film just because he is attached to it?

You and me both, brother. He is the epitome of "Cool because it's weird even though it's a mediocre film." trap.

IB has a great plot, and the German guy is a great character except for the

...part. And Brad Pitt is a cartoon intended to make fun of American patriotism. IB directed and produced by Michael Mann would have been awesome.

OP, to say you like the movies you listed, but not RD or Pulp, is very strange. Can you elaborate as to why?

I liked Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction and enjoyed Django, but I dislike a lot of his films, and think he is one of the douchiest of directors. He is just full of himself.

If you notice, Kill Bill 2 and Jackie Brown were more straight forward movies as well as True Romance and Dusk til Dawn. I thought Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction were both really busy movies and I just never dug either one of them. I didn't even care for Kill Bill 1 much but I really liked the second one.

He's a Scorcese (in the sense that both are shrewd self-promoters) for Generation XBox

He's perfect for this era though. I remember before IB was released people on here were giddily excited, wondering "what films will he reference?"

Word. Im kinda on the same page as you. The kill bills and django are his worst movies by far IMO. That doesnt mean theyre bad, it just speaks for the quality of QT's work. Everything else I loved. Reservoir Dogs and Pulp are objectively great movies

I like him but I don't think he is perfect or anything. I really only love pulp fiction and just like Django, kill bills, Jackie Brown. I really didn't like IB all that much. Everyone is always surprised when I say that but I just didn't care for it, not sure why

Not everybody that likes Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs is a QT Superfan. I like those two a lot but only like bits and pieces of the Kill Bills & Jackie Brown. Haven't seen Django yet. Not a big fan of IB.

As far as the ones he worked on but didn't outright direct, From Dusk ti Dawn is good until it turns into a vampire movie. True Romance is up there with PF & RD. Like Sin City more than Grindhouse.

Sounds like you like as many of his movies as I do, just different ones.

I like gritty crime dramas. Not into adult cartoons, Kung Fu movies or over the top silly stuff as much.

To each his own.

If you think QT's movies are weird, please tell me what you think of David Lynch?

Are you one of those, "The government shouldn't be paying for TV programing", PBS haters?

Have you watched it more than once Carson?

You know QT films get better with time and repeated viewings..

His films are alright, I am just not sold on this whole "greatest film directors of all time" shite that most here seem to buy into.
