Spoke to a pelicans corporate account executive yesterday at the Zurich classic, and that's what he told me.

It's not the coolest name in the world, but now that we know for sure it's ours, there's no point in bitching and moaning about how lame a pelican is. Some people need to just deal with it.

On the NBA.com store, Pelicans hats are #4 behind Brooklyn, Miami, and Chicago. I think 2 is a pretty safe bet because I have seen a shitload of Pels t-shirts and polos around the city and unlike most teams, you know these had to have been purchased in the last few months.
