I know this is a niche town but has anyone ever done a weekend in Fredericksburg? Looking to take the wife for a 3 day weekend of wine tours and was curious if anyone had any recs on where to stay or eat?

Also it's a huge bed and breakfast town. What the hell is that? The pictures online look like you are staying 5 feet from another couple. Sould I stay at a B&B or regular hotel?

I just want privacy

We usually just stay in a cheap room because we don't stay in the room long

Places to hit up:
Fredericksburg Brewing
Enchanted Rock state natural area
Luckenbach
And there are dozens if wineries, and several places in town where you can try many many kinds

We usually ride on down to Lost Maples , Vanderpool area . It's down below Hunt , TX. This time of the year it's a nice bike ride . Lot's of wild flowers and the weather is nice today .

Dad lives their. There is a hamburger place, don't know the name and also freidhelm's, which is a German restaurant. Outside of that can't recommend much.

Went over Easter weekend. We stayed at the bed & brew, the rooms were very large, it was nice. Definitely do Enchanted Rock, but go first thing one morning. Lots of German restaurants, all we tried were solid

Highly recommend the Garrison Bros. distillery tour, it's not far at all and was a lot of fun.

B&B's are hit and miss. I personally like staying in a hotel, but i'm not big on B&Bs. My parent's went to Bed and Brew and loved it.

For places to go in Fredericksburg, I agree with LoneStar's list but I would add Mahaley's for breakfast and Hondo's for burgers and music.

It's been about 8 yrs since I've been. I can't remember many of the restaurants. We stayed in a house about 3 miles outside of town. Very secluded but within 5 minutes of town. Had a creek running through the property.

Enchanted Rock was cool. I liked Rustlin Robs downtown for food and kitchen stuff.

LINK

ETA: found the place we stayed. 3.1 miles outside of town. $140 per night and 2 night minimum.

If you can find it, there is a place called the Buffalo Nickel. Buffalo is all over the menu and it was one of the better burgers that I've had.

Hilltop Cafe just outside of town is killer. Might need reservations but it is a must when we are in that part of Texas.
Last time we were in Fredericksburg we stayed at the Hangar Hotel out at the airport and it was pretty cool. I don't think they allow kids.
