For those that think some LSU guys should have stayed

2 words: Matt Barkley.
Coming back does not guarantee getting drafted higher, a big year can help, maybe a guy like Simon could have benefited from a big year, but for the most part, players won't get bigger or faster and that, more than anything determines where a guy gets drafted.

Will miss the guys that left, and we'll probably feel it this year, but for the most part, I would have to agree.

Ya but Barkley was ready to come out, Chris Faulk isn't.

This is dead on. A lot of people mindlessly think another year automatically pays off. It usually makes no difference. Faulk is the only exception this year.

overrated like most USC qb's, been hyped as a sure thing for the nfl since the 8th grade

Agreed, coming back doesn't always mean more money

Yeah.
Eta: how much would Ware's stock have improved playing one more year in the same offense as Hilliard, Hill, and Blue?

Ryan Tannehill went #8 last year, after the year he had in 2011 Barkley certainly would have gone before the 4th.

exactly, players are not going to get bigger and faster and there will be a new crop of jrs to go high.
I can see it both ways for Faulk. Guys have been drafted that were hurt before. The most dramatic examples being Sam Bradford and Willis McGhee. It was a risk for Faulk to come out, but it was also a risk for him to stay. It's his life. I think he will be drafted and if he does, he can make a team just as easily as he could have had a big year at LSU.

I agree that Barkley should have come out last year, but I'm not sure how this makes your point. He was going to be a first round pick if he came out, but he didnt and now he is a later pick.
These LSU guys are not early round picks and they are still coming out.

I agree that some/most of them could not have improved their stock with 1 more year but how does that in anyway compare to Barkley?

Mark Sanchez, Matt Leinart, Carson Palmer.... Maybe the NFL is learning their lessons on these over hyped USC QB's who play poo competition all year to stack up their numbers.

2 words: Matt Barkley.
Does not compute.

Matt Barkley what?
Barkley didn't fall, Barkley was artificially inflated by the media. He'll get drafted right where he should have.

Team needs trump this if you use Barkley as your example.

No Barkely would have went in the top 10 last year because the projected him right behing RG3 and Luck. As a matter of fact, the Dolphins would have picked him. They were winning games and he was putting up the stats. When they fell off this year, he got the blame like Geno and they started grilling about his arm strength and deep ball accuracy.

That's stupid. Putting up stats doesn't mean your arm strength is any better. He would've been exposed at the Combine and workouts just like he was this year.
