Finebaum must be coming back to XM

He disappeared and no one on that station said boo for well over a month now. All of a sudden all the stations were bringing up his name today out of the blue and mentioning how much they miss Tammy and Legend and those goofy callers. Sure sign they were told by xm to start brining him up because he's about to get his show back in satellite.

He was behind on his Saban bootlicking.
He also needed more time to work on his gag reflex, again for Saban.

I'm pretty sure he went off the air in BHAM too. He changed stations and had to go off the air for a certain amount of time

Noncompete deal. Usually six months.

Only 90 days off the air.

He must be panting to talk about His Excellency.

Letting his show outside of the state of Alabama is the worst thing that happened to him. People outside the state don't understand that its Jerry Springer on radio centered around college football. Everyone gets butt hurt about his show. The show was 5x better 2005-2009 before XM came in.

You are a classic example of the confused. He disappeared because of a business decision to not resign on contract with the previous local station that he syndicated from. Everyone was quiet because they were legally required to not talk about Finebaum due to the settlement over breach of contract suit. The local stations were battling for Finebaum. When a caller (and even some guests) would ask about Finebaum... they would cut them off (I stream WJOX daily).

The reason you are hearing about him this week is because on Monday of this week, his previous employer's rights to compete for Finebaum's contract ended. He is now essentially a free agent and XM are the ones that are going to bring the money.

It's all about business, but people make it about Bama/Tammy/Legend/RollDamnTide/etc.

BTW - Since he's been off air, he's signed a fairly big book deal.

Agree with most of what you posted.

Putting him on a national channel without his audience understanding what he really was( a local host)would be akin to putting Deke and Bobby on XM and people wondering why they talked about the Sean Payton all the time.

Although Deke and Bobby suck on any channel.

Are you finebaums agent? Yes I'm drinking but no I'm not confused. On xm no one mentioned him. I have no clue if it was due to a settlement. Its possible but that doesn't sound likely as xm wasn't a party to his contract and if they had been sued it would be reported somewhere. Maybe it was but I never saw it. Even if you're right, which is unlikely, them bringing him up again is still indicative he's about to no on their network. He's not so important all those other national shows were just waiting for his non compete to expire just to talk about him. Mark my words, he's about to be back working for xm in a week or two. Maybe sooner.

If I was his agent, I would be OT baller status. His agent is Nick Kahn of CAA Sports. I was a part of the media in Bham when I lived there. Finebaum gets the bad wrap but I think Ryan Haney (Finebaum's Program Director) has been the uber douche in the whole deal.

No doubt he will be on XM. The situation and lawsuit burned bridges in Birmingham and there's only one station there that would give him an offer... and there's no way they can compete with a big money contract that XM can deal. What's going down now is going to be an "exclusive rights" to Finebaum.

Sadly, since Finebaum has been silent... Clay Travis has skyrocketed as the SEC sports shock jock guy. He is still a bit too raw and forced, but I can see him getting a big time contract in the near future.

re: Finebaum must be coming back to XM
Did Clay Travis used to be in Memphis? I can't know one way or the other if Paul was better before he went national. But is probably disagree as I think the local yokel callers detract from the show. But then again if I was a Birmingham local I can see where they'd disagree. I like Paul's show and ive actually been on it a few times during the Albert Means thing as I was Lynn Langs lawyer. As you recall at that time he was an accused Auburn supporter as he slammed Alabama all the time. He's a bandwagonner but he's good at his job.

I break his balls about Saban and he tends to overly self-promote, but at least he is an actual broadcaster and not a former jock who can't use a microphone.

He's a bammer mouthpiece... period. He slams bammer only when his REC buddies at Shoal Creek tell him to. And only then, when they are fed up with a coach and want him gone; (Re:Mark Gottfried , Mike Shula Etc.) He tried to criticize satan for about 2 days over lying to the Dolphins and he, as well as, Bob Baumhower were shouted down on the air. That was the last of any objective bammer journalism from that turd. I hope to God he does not show back up on the Bham airwaves. The intelligent silence has been bliss!

I sure hope not. I couldn't listen to it. The callers where the show. If it was primarily finebaum talking and interviewing guest and pros it would be much better.
