I went into Izzo's today for lunch and when I went to redeem my full Izzo's repeat offender card they refused to honor it. They said they were no longer accepting the cards. They told me that I would have to download their app and essentially start over.

Now I can understand if they want change the way they do their rewards system but they should at least honor the cards that have already been completely filled with stamps.

did you speak to manager?

If you cause a big enough stink anyone will cave in.

They told me in early March that they were stopping the cards the first of April. Be a fatass and eat Izzo's more.

They've advertised this for a while in the store. A manager probably would have honored it had you made enough of a fuss

I did speak to the manager. He said they were not accepting them and that was final. I left and presumably they threw away the burrito.

I don't understand what the upside is to not honoring a full card from Izzo's perspective. They are making people mad who have obviously been there quite a few times.

This.....just finish out the cards that have all the stamps on them and don't do any new stamps...eventually the cards will run out, simple as that

It happens. I've had to turn customers down on expired offers when I works at outback. When corporate makes a decision, it's final and lower people have no control.

Smoothie King 2.0

They are stupid for doing this but it must appear more profitable on their end.

It sounded like that was the case here. I have to wonder what would happen if I bought an Izzo's gift card. Would they later decide they aren't honoring gift cards anymore and I am just out the money I spent?

Izzos = lukewarm burrito. The burritos are never even very warm

I used to work at a chain & if a customer throws a big enough fit they will get what they want. Case closed.

But at least when Smoothie King switched over, they did something like give me a 50 cent credit for every hole punched on my card when I tried to use it. It had 7-8 holes punched, and I ended up getting about a $4 discount.

For Izzo's to do that is crappy. Any manager with an ounce of common sense would honor the card...frick what corporate says. Those cards are incentives for people to come into the store...and now you are going to yank away what the customer earned? I probably wouldn't go back.

I understand that is usually the case but I am not the type of person who is going to start yelling at people in a restaurant. I just left without my burrito. I am still trying to understand why they felt it was better to throw away the burrito than to take my card and give me the burrito.
