All of a sudden some random word in a message started showing up as links = underlined blue text.

I thought people were making some kind of relevant link, but then it happened to one of my posts.

I think the word "program" appeared as a link in a post that I made. I didn't make the link. And the link didn't even work.

What gives???

Is it just my computer??

Is annyone else seeing this?

It's some kind of adware. I can't remember what it's called but I had that issue a few months ago. Turning off some extensions in Chrome got rid of it. I apparently installed that crap along with a screenshot tool I think.

It is definitely Chrome extension adware that was installed by a 3rd party without your permission. Go to your extensions and delete any you didn't authorize. I had the same issue a while back

It's basically like getting an STD imo.

This issue is not unique to chrome. Actually IE seems to be most prone to these things.

Yeah, I used to get that all the time when I used Explorer.

It was a pain in the arse to remove.

OK - I deleted Chrome completely from my computer and I still have the problem.

How do you delete it?

I looked at the "Programs and Features" list in Control Panel and could not identify anything that seemed to be the cause, other than Chrome.

you didn't need to delete Chrome. you have adware installed on your computer. what do you not get?

google the problem and there are probably steps to delete it.

Its not without permission. They just hide it in the fine print of the download agreement.

Funny thing is, if you had, you know, USED chrome instead of deleting it, you wouldn't be experiencing this problem.

There is some shitty extension installed on whatever browser you are using. It will NOT show up in the program list in the control panel. You need to find the extensions/addons of your browser and uninstall it there.

OK - In my case I found that the program behind this is called "Supreme Savings."

I uninstalled it and the problem has gone away.

Thanks for your help - everyone.
