I think this rivals Joe Diffie and the Brad Paisley/LL Cool J garbage...

Blake Shelton - Boys Round Here

In the 1st minute of this song, he hit every country cliche possible...

Bocephus
Plowing fields
Girls
Ice Cold Beer
Chewin 'backer
redneck
4 wheel drive
red dirt roads
kickin up dust

when I first heard this song I was like "wait..did I hear that right? Couldn't have" then waited for the chorus to come around again. Sadly I did hear it right. What garbage.

Along those lines, how bout this lyric from jake owen's '8 second ride'

quote:

she said 'hey boy, you mind taking me home tonight? cause I aint never seen a country boy with tires on his truck this high.'

I said 'climb on up but honey watch the cup that I'm spittin my dip inside'

I heard another terrible one yesterday for the first time. It was by Eric Church, something about "waiting on 2 pink lines" or some BS like that.

Turble, just turble!

That one is old as shite and I actually think that Eric Church is one of the only true "artists" in Nashville. Sure he releases some bad songs here and there but for the most part he's solid and at least he writes his own tunes and he stays away from the cliches for the most part.

When you say "old as shite", I guess it's all relative. When I hear something's "old as shite", I'm thinking pre-80's.

I don't know much about Eric Church, he may be a great artist, but that song was cheesy and sucked. Plain and simple.

From a political standpoint I can agree with a lot of what is said here. But as far as setting it to music, just not a good idea at all !

It's like you frickers expect country music to cure cancer or something. It's always been about what it's about now.

Two big defenes for Eric Church:

He actually writes music and he doesn't rap. Like it or not, that's the standard country music has been beat down to today.

What a shitty song.

The funny part is the morons arguing about trucks in the comment section.
