Should I go gas, charcoal, or electric?

What design should I do? A refrigerator style? A kettle? an Akorn? Something with a side box?

ETA:

I think I've decided to pick between the Akorn and WSM. Decisions decisions...

Akorn

I've been following those threads, seems OK and the price is right.

I have a Weber Q and no matter how low you turn it, it won't go cooler than 325-350.

Not sure how much I care about being a "true smoker" at this point. I just want to be able to smoke some ribs, pork butt, and chicken when I feel like it w/o a ton of hassle.

WSM for 299

WSM is what I started with and still use. Very easy to maintain temp.

WEBER SMOKEY MOUNTAIN!!!

Do search on craigslist for your area for WEber....I got my 18.5 off of there for $170, and it had only been used maybe 4 times. LOVE IT!

I prefer using charcoal or wood. The WSM is probably the most proven and has the largest following. If you want truly hassle free get an electric smoker.
