i love chicken salad. i can eat it every day. in fact, when we boil crawfish, we usually throw a whole chicken in the crawfish water and boil it so that we can make chicken salad with the spicy meat. it's awesome.

as long as it's on evangeline maid bread, you can't beat it.

I have had some from Oak Point as well. It's good, but not as good as Calvin's.

Calvin's is the stuff, no doubt.

I really appreciate that it's mild enough to work as a base if you want to dress it up some. Sometimes I mix in some chopped walnuts and dried cranberries. Good stuff.

I don't love chicken and I don't love chicken salad, but Calvin's is like crack to me. Had a container last week that I savored and rationed for the week.

Me too. I can go months without eating it, then I have it once, and I start craving it all over again. I don't even like buying it because I know I have a problem . I find myself eating it when I'm not hungry at all.

I still can't replicate it, and I still not sure what it is that makes me enjoy it so much. I guess it's just the simplicity of it.

Calvin must put his special sauce in it every morning before he opens.

This is what I think in addition to putting it in a food processor.

Martini thinks Calvin uses a Swanson's chicken salad seasoning mix, but I contacted the company and it's no longer made.

I can make something close and get the texture close, but it's not the same and I'd rather just buy Calvin's than going through the trouble.

Like you, once I have it, I want more. I especially like having it around during tomato season. Its perfect to stuff in a tomato or an avocado for a quick summer meal. I boil some eggs and slice one to with it.

It's basically a dried ranch seasoning mix they put in. Almost exactly like the HEB brand mix. Food processor to get the texture.

Rouse's is much better IMO
