Would meet a lot of the Saints' needs: disruptive pass rusher; playmaker at CB/nickel back and return guy; potential starter at LT; help at our pitiful Safety position, and finally, a speedy WR.

Well, most folks are ready to run Ingram and Harper out of town on a rail. Maybe b/c they stink.

What does that have to do with a mock draft? I say we give Harper the boot too. But CSP loves Ingram.

What does "too many SEC" or "too many LSU players" have to do w/ a mock draft? As you know, the SEC is the best conference in college football. (doesn't mean there aren't great prospects at other schools, i.e., see Jahri Evans). But I stand by the point that this draft would meet many of the Saints' needs, and is based upon the likelihood that these players would be available when the Saints pick. BTW, as a Saints' fan, I sure hope Ingram has a good year, but so far he's been a huge disappointment. I'd much rather move him than Ivory. But if he's on the roster, I hope he gains 1,000 yards.

For what could be a three back rotation, it's unrealistic to expect 1,000 yards. Though hoping =/= expecting.

It's a Saints Talk joke. See all the topics since January questioning should we draft ______, and the _____ just happens to be from LSU.

I agree.

Sure, I'm an LSU homer. I will say admittedly I would love to see the Saints get Mathieu, Reid, Faulk, Simon, Minter - but I know that's unrealistic, and likely not in the Saints' best interest anyway. Oddly enough, while I am a Mingo fan, I would NOT take him over UGA's Jones in the first round. Re the other guys (Minter, Mathieu, Reid, Faulk, Simon) I would certainly consider drafting any of them in the 3rd round if they're still available .... out of that group, Minter likely will be gone. I think Mathieu could be the steal of the draft for some team.

as far as Alabama players go, I could see the Saints picking Jesse Williams if he's still around in the 4th? 5th?

Not going to happen because, unfortunately, yards gained in practice don't count

Just messing with you. I'd actually be very happy with this draft.

Of course, Mathieu may be gone by round 3, Faulk gone by round 4, the TCU WR gone by round 6.

While I believe safety and left tackle are the biggest needs on the roster, I don't see the Saints drafting a starting LT, so I hope they're planning on signing McKenzie in FA. Faulk would be a good pickup however. From what I read, Vaccaro would be an upgrade at the Safety position but a bit of a reach at #15 and probably not a "difference maker." I think Jones is too good to pass up at #15. They might have something w/ Jones and Martez Wilson blitzing the QB from the OLB position.

McKenzie? McKinnie? You know who I'm talking about. I keep hearing about "his baggage" but there's no way Peyton is going to leave Brees' blindside unprotected and at present the Saints' brass candidly admits they do not have a solid starter at LT .... unacceptable.
