Had one of the best bream trips ever yesterday. Picture the 10 biggest non-chinqs you've ever caught, then do it on the same trip. Should have kept them all, but was after The White Perch. Caught some huge bluegill, then this,

Things I think it's not: bluegill, Orangespotted sunfish, red-breasted sunfish, chinq, longear, pumpkinseed, warmouth(goggle) green sunfish.

OK, that pretty much excludes everything which can't be possible. Variation of one of the above?

I keep going back to long ear, but something is just not right. May be a color phase for the spawn. Catching sunfish on a roadrunner is pretty fun.

Looks like supper. That's all I've got. I would just call it a bream and eat it.

Looks like a stumpknocker. Can't tell from pic but if the eyes are blue, that is definitely it. We're you fishing around cypress stumps?

Probably, but blue-eyed stumpknocker is all I've ever known them by. That is a good sized one.

That's a head scratcher for sure. When in doubt, bream.
