Benetiz is killing Chelsea? Maybe, but it's more to do with Roman's impatience. He's had two of the best managers in world football today (Ancelotti and Mourinho) and he's let both go. He had the most promising young football manager in the world in AVB, and he let him go. He had a club legend defy the odds and lead Chelsea to CL glory in RDM, and he was fired. He'll probably sign a great manager like Pellegrini and he will eventually be fired.
Roman is nearly the perfect owner, but he's too trigger happy for his own good. Can you imagine where Chelsea would be if Mourinho never left?

Roman knows plenty about building a team, but running a club isn't like a video game. Teams have ups and downs, injuries happen, players are unfamiliar with one another, sometimes tactical problems are difficult to diagnose, sometimes players start playing badly for no reason, etc. One of the reasons Wenger and Ferguson are so successful is that they have a system in place they stick to even when everything is going against them. That becomes important, because it helps average players hide their deficiencies, and the whole team can rely on that system when everything else seems to be falling apart.

Yes Roman screwed up big time by hiring FSW in the first place and it's inconceivable to me that he still has a job here.
However, that does not excuse the fact that any jackleg who knows anything about Chelsea or soccer in general would not continue to make the same mistakes as FSW does over and over and over and over and have this team in a dog fight for 4th place. I know it's not but it almost seems like sabotage. How this guy won a CL is beyond all belief.

Sunday, perfect example...
One goal lead, trying to kill of the game. Any half wit knows the best way to see out a game is to keep the ball away from the other team. What does Rafa do? He takes out our three best possession midfielders. What happens? We can't hold the ball for any amount of time and eventually leads to an equalizer. And the fact he is probably doing it to rest them for a meaningless Europa game on Thursday makes it all the more maddening. He's truly the worst.

I'm glad someone else here noticed that. Hell I was pissed when he put Yossi on for Hazard, and then took Mata off right before Suarez equalizes.
