Dry aged ribeye from Smith and Wollensky's in New York City, cooked medium rare. I have only been to a few top notch steak houses, but the one I had at S&W was by far the best I've eaten so far.

This is my answer, only in D.C.

The best steaks I ever ate were at Binion's Steakhouse at the top of the old Horseshoe in downtown Las Vegas. I was doing a consulting project for Jack Binion, and I was comped RF&B (room, food and beverage) for just under six months. The free steaks were all USDA prime cuts, and they were cooked just the way I ordered them. I'd rotate between New York strips, porterhouses and ribeyes. They also had 14 oz. veal chops and prime rib that were excellent as well. The reason they were the best was the combination of quality and price.

When I was in Afghanistan, Outback brought us all a bunch of Ribeye's, Shrimp and bloomin Onions for Christmas. About bunch of us volunteered to cook all the steaks. It was kind of cool seeing 20 or so soldiers cooking steaks on makeshift grills. That was a good day.

That actually is a cool story. Bro.

I'll probably get crucified for this but I can still taste the bone in ribeye at dickie Brennans in Nola.

I've had some great steaks in my time on this earth but very few that I can remember the first bite.

I been to pretty much all the fancy chains, Ruth's Chris, s&w, Morton's, flemmings (never liked this place), etc, but the one that stuck out the most was FIX in Vegas. Filet cooked over a wood burning grill that had a really unique and fantastic taste.

Even cooler was all the volunteers that came out with outback as well. It was Christmas and they had managers/workers/higher ups in the offices there all working as like waitresses trying to serve us all an help us all out. Was really amazing they took their time out to come there. We gave one lady that was talking to us one of our Squadron patches and she just started balling. You could tell it actually meant something to her, and she wasn't just checking a box.
