I got married a little over a month ago and was looking at insurance for the spouse. We are both early thirties and no tobacco. I currently have a universal life policy of 150k and was looking at the same for my wife. I looked at a thirty year term and it is half the price of universal for her. Can someone explain the advantage or either for our situation? I just don't trust a sales person to have my best interest in mind with commission on the line.

First of all make sure your UL is funded properly. 2nd I would just get a wl policy on her with a term rider. You convert some or all of the term into the wl later
