Old post by the late great Capt. JLT out of Buras.

Triton comments Had the opportunities to have a sponsor boat from almost any company I asked for years and this is the most honest comment I can give you-------------- Thought Ranger was the best bay boat on the market(owned 2) until a really good friend got me switched over to a Triton. Have ridden in many a bay boat in my days down here, and there is not another boat on the market for ANY price that will match up to a Triton LTS for ride, durability, dryness, handling and fishing. You heard already the story of my '04LTS being lost in Katrina and found again after 9 months lost in some trees a mile away from my X-lodge. Cleaned it out, replaced the batteries and am still running it every day! With the 2 automatic bilges pumps going full force, she rode out Katrina all by herself and found solitude and safety way up in some trees to await me coming back home 9 months later to get her! That's a TRUE story, my friend.

Calcasieu Charter Service fished out of them some years back. Really great boat, with nice layout, room for 3-4 people to fish easy.

Big, comfortable, spacious, well built boat. My good friend is a guide and fishes out of one. If I would change one thing about it, I would give it a little sharper deadrise angle at the stern. It does seem to "hit" a little harder in a big chop than some other comparable bay boats I have ridden in.

I like this boat. I would own this boat. Problem is, Mrs Cove wants a Nautic Star FA-210 Coastal so she can get in it once every two years...

Those are pretty cool boats IMO. Obviously a different vessel than the Triton with different purposes, but still a cool boat. NS makes a great boat, BTW. I have been researching the crap out of boats lately and, for the money, I don't know that a better boat is made.

Fish off a 22', I can run all over the place on that boat. Serious amounts of storage, only way we'll fill that onboard fish box is fishing offshore. Rides dry too.
Like.

Tritons are some nice arse boats, especially the LTS series. If youre looking for a heavier bay boat you can take offshore but still fish the marsh don't pass it up.

I've read stories of people running 30+ miles out on this boat. Think that is accurate if you pick your days (and run with an epirb)?

Probably could but that is awfully far out for a 24 ft bay boat. Storms, winds, and waves can pop up so quick along the coast I wouldn't feel comfortable at all going that far out. But if you were to try it in a bay boat, triton would be one of the ones to do it in.
