I'd like Rogers too. I'd the to move up but he could be a beast.

Justin hunter is good also.

On second thought, yeah I'd be pissed if we drafted a wr in 1. There's a good bit of talent at that spot and I don't think any are far away better than the others.

I'm not enamoured with Austin at all, like most. I just can't get past the fact I think he's simply a slot wr

Yeah, but that's where Brees throws to the most. Colston and Graham are our leading receivers and they're in the slot A LOT.

I see where you'd say this, but I disagree. You can line him up just about anywhere in the field and hell be productive, even in the run game. I think he would be purely luxury to take him 15th overall as I think we desperately need defensive help there.

That's a good point. I still wouldn't like him at 15 though.

Now he turns in to Percy harvin and I'm proven an idiot, as per usual.

Also, I think we already had that guy in Reggie bush. It wasn't quite the difference maker we expected. Or at least I expected

I don't think anyone would mind our future sproles replacement either.

It sucks we need help on defense so bad this year

Graham plays a lot of slot, but I think Colston is primarily outside. Moore is really our go to slot receiver.

Wrong. I don't have the link right now, but PFF did an article talking about Colston taking a primary number of his snaps in the slot.

Which would be a better idea,
Taking Austin over Jones, or putting carpet in the mens bathroom of a bourbon street bar?

Well I wouldn't take Austin over Jones, but it is the better idea.

It makes me cringe thinking of tip-toeing in with flip flops drunk, trying not induce piss bubbles deep enough to get on my toes.

Anyways, I'd be pumped to have Austin.
I hope we get Jones, Mingo, or top 3 OT.

Huh, I'll take your word for it. I guess I just think of him as an outside guy and Moore as a slot guy.

As long as it's not Austin(unless we plan on Moore and/or Sproles being gone next year). We need another big or fast(hopefully a good combo; prefer faster over bigger) guy to pair with Colston.

I actually think OT is our first choice(not likely to happen at 15 unless we reach), with WR, CB, and Safety(Free more than Strong but either would do) a close second. If we take an OLB it will only be because he is rated a good bit higher than anyone at those positions that we could select.

Position I know won't get drafted with our 1st: QB, HB, FB, TE, OG, C, K, or P.

Unless they have someone rated very high and they fall to us, I don't see ILB or NT as likely.

We move them around for matchup reasons. When inside Colston either runs TE routes from the slot, or runs routes as if he were on the outside.

Moore still runs his under routes when outside on most plays.

Adding Austin would give us 3 guys that do pretty much the same thing(Moore and Sproles). Don't really need a 3rd guy like that.

It would be most beneficial to get a burner to rotate with and push Morgan, but another big target outside is never a bad thing. Jump balls to Colston, Graham, and Rookie all day.

I've said it before and I'll keep saying until draft day: THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO REASON TO TAKE A WR WITH THE 15TH PICK.

There isn't a WR this year worth taking there. We can wait until round 3 if we so choose, but I'll be pissed if we take one at 15.

Keenan Austin is a stud. I get that he is sliding because of not being able to participate in combine or pro day, but in the field the kid is an animal. Extremely physical for a WR.

Sounds like Patterson could very well slide in the draft and be available. Think he has the highest ceiling of any WR in the draft. Sure, he's raw, but the physical tools are there. Thoughts on him?

Completely forgot about Darick Rogers. Who was better than Hunter at Tenn.

confirming on Colston being the primary slot guy

I'm expecting better valued defenders being around at #15 thus making the WR question nill. That said, I wouldn't be upset about Austin. Mostly for the Sproles thought... he'll be 30 this year and contract expires in 2015. Payton has to have the pieces for his creative high octane playcalling. If they rated him high enough to take I would be on board.

Brees makes serviceable WRs out of scrubs like Robert Meachem.
I'm tired of serviceable fricking WRs. I want a damn star. I realize Brees can thread the needle but he shouldn't have to every damn play. I'm so sick of seeing other WRs with 3 steps on our D but our WRs have hardly any YAC at all.

But, I realize unless your name is Johnson or Fitzgerald, a 1st round WR is a real crapshoot.

If a WR is the BPA, it wouldn't bother me.
