I'm afraid to like it because SciFi will just cancel it like alphas...

It wasn't bad but it didn't live up to the hype imo. I will continue to watch it has potential but I wasn't thrilled by the premier.

I actually kind of liked the pilot. It seemed like I should have liked it a lot less than I did.

Some of the acting and cgi were cringeworthy. As you said, there was also way too much going on even with it being two hours long.
It has potential though. I'll continue watching to see where it goes.

They may not can it as fast.. They have a video game on all platforms tied to the game.. A lot money has gone into this thing.

Yeah... It was a cross between the intro stories from Eureka and Farscape. New characters plopped into an "unknown" setting and trying to find a place to fit. The "new sheriff in town" device was not new for Eureka either, though.
I thought it was alright minus the gawdaful CGI. I like Jaime Murray as the bad alien's wife.

I am a little over halfway through the first 2 hour episode and it is finally picking up a little steam. The first hour was kind of slow with the introductions to all the characters but with the action picking up, so is the show.
Oh yeah, and Julie Benz and Mia Kirshner have aged very well and still look great.

I thought the pilot was okay. I am a big sci fi nerd, so I will probably watch it longer than I should if it sucks.
Last night's episode was not very good. I am having a hard time viewing Datak as the heavy in this show. He and his emo alien son are just not that interesting to me.
I will give it a couple more episodes to see if it gets better.

I actually liked the second episode better than the pilot. A little more character development over trying to advance the season arc so much.

I went into it with a completely open mind, and didn't expect much. I really enjoyed both episodes. So, as long as it doesn't start to stale, I'll keep watching.
