Cousins has battled with every coach he's had, true. He's had two coaches in Paul Westphal and Keith Smart, neither of which are very mentors or coaches. The front office has had a complete inability to build a real team. Everyone on that squad is me-first and got contracts thanks to their stats. The Maloofs have been awful. Cousins is a 22 year old with some character issues, but he's never had any problems off the court. He stays out of trouble with the law. I've seen worse attitudes turn it around. Cousins is an excellent player, and will continue to improve. With a strong supporting cast, he would be worth the 1st pick in a second.

in a heartbeat. his attitude is a exaggerated attitude is a reflection of his environment. as shitty as he may seem, dude does not "no show". he balls out and takes shite from no one.
among centers
scoring-4th
rbds-6
ft%-11th
asst-4th
steals-1st
blks-24th
dbl dbls-6th

effective?!? ...those numbers put at the top. monty can improve that a bit too.

Yes. Someone brought this up at the middle of the season. My reply then, was a quick Hell No!! However, I followed him closely for the rest of the season. And this kid is phenomenal, I really think he just needs a change of scenery. That whole franchise is a mess right now. He would come in and take immediate pressure off of AD down low, saving him from some abuse on the block.

He's not going to change it this point. He is who he is.

Its all about the situation. i.e. Sprewell in Golden State vs Sprewell in NYC/Minnesota, Rodman in S.A. vs Rodman in Chicago.

I think the better part of your argument is simply the fact that we would have to give him big money in a year, if we wanted to keep him vs. a draft pick that we would be paying significantly less for four years.

He was a punk in college. He was a punk in HS, allegedly. either every situation he's been in has been bad, or it's him.

His environment has changed, he has not.

Like I said, if it was a year or two ago, I might have taken the risk. But now that he's a year from getting a max deal, no thanks. Too big a risk.

When it comes to talent, this is a no brainer. But Cousins is a psycho. It'd be risky, but any draft pick this year is as well with no AD types in the draft. I'd strongly consider it

Good thing the Kings aren't staying in Sac Town then.

You really think Noel has more potential than Cousins?

Without a doubt I will I think with some help he can be the second best center in the league behind Howard.

Realistically what kind of two team trade with the Kings do you make?

Obviously you can not trade AD.

The kings have a bunch of guards and average big men. I think they would definitely interested in including pieces like Anderson, Lopez, and the pick when giving up Cousins. I don't know what else they have we would be really interested in on their team.

So a core of

Gordon
Davis
Cousins

Or if Gordon was in the trade you have this to build around

Anderson
Davis
Cousins

That's one thing you can't say about Cousins. For all his issues, he doesn't let it stop him from balling. Dude is a 40/20 threat. Hell, didn't he just go for like 36 and 22 recently? Don't think I can name any other guys like that besides Dwight Howard.
