Breakthrough: Jets have granted permission for CB Darrelle Revis to visit Tampa Bay and undergo a physical with the Buccanners, per sources.

We may get one of the picks that would result from this trade.

At a time when some think that the amount of movement in the first round of the draft will be unprecedented, count the Jets among the teams that want to move down. Per Rich Cimini of ESPNNewYork.com, Jets G.M. John Idzik has “sent out word” of his interest in sliding deeper into the first round, in the hopes of acquiring extra picks. It makes sense, given that the Jets have plenty of needs — and that the draft largely is regarded as flat in talent from No. 1 through No. 25. With plenty of teams wanting to trade down, the question becomes whether enough teams will be willing to trade up, and what it will cost to climb. Despite the perception that the talent is equivalent, some teams may decide to try to fill specific needs, or they may fall in love with a specific player. The Jets could also be “trading up” in a roundabout way, giving up cornerback Darrelle Revis to acquire the 13th overall pick in the draft, and likely at least one more draft pick in 2013.

I'll admit I haven't followed the Revis situation too much last week, but I thought the Bucs were holding firm on just the 1st rounder?

The latest info indicates that's still the case.

ETA: Man, I really want the Bucs to close this deal. It'll set them back for years. No real franchise QB and paying Revis $14 to $15 mill a year doesn't strike fear in too many people.

I would be good with a 4th for Ivory. With the depth in the backfield, losing him won't be that bad and we can get a decent corner or OL with the 4th.

Interesting. If they really want to move back, I wonder if we could package ivory a later pick to switch first rounders.

I really don't want to move up in the first. Any way to stockpile more picks is preferable to me.

Albert Breer said Jets offered a 6th while we want a 4th. So we are probably getting their 5th.

Ivory's significantly better than a 6th.

Ivory was an UDFA, I'm sure the jets or any team for that matter can find a nobody who runs like a bull for dirt cheap after the draft if they really wanted to. RB's are a dime a dozen now a days, gotta face the facts no matter how much we all love Ivory!

@SportsWhispers: #NFL #Saints are shopping RB Chris Ivory, who just signed his contract. #Packers, #Bengals, #Jets & #Steelers have shown interest.

Then why the shite did we draft one in the 1st round?

RBs might be "a dime a dozen", but good one are worth their weight in gold.
