MJ's new argument against gun control...

Here's to say that if 1 Million Bostonians were armed and going about their business instead of locked up scared in their homes, this guy would be caught by now.

Instead we have a 19 yo making quick work of the best Napolitano has to offer.

Going on what, 18 hours now? After being cornered by the LEO's?

If a million Bostonians were armed (ahms Bahston speak), they would be shooting anything they thought was this nut and an additional 100 people would be dead.

How did the younger brother get away?

Was he not at the house his brother was gun downed at?
Was he not at the house they had surrounded by 500 police?

So you're part of the crowd that thinks gun carriers are not distinctly trained and concerned about the capability of their weapon? And thus incredibly responsible with it?

Not incredbily irresponsible but I think the average Bostonian would be dying to blow this wacko away (as would we all). To use the antiseptic Iraqi war phrase, there could be collateral damage as everyone will shoot first and and worry later. and yes, I am for gun control even if 99% of TD isn't.

Yes, because it's obviously everyones natural instinct to run TOWARD the gun shots...

I agree Meaux.. grew up with guns all my life, I don't even joke about aiming it at somebody. Loaded or not. That's incredibly disrespectful.

That guy is putting it in the scenario that they were just given weapons. Had it always been legal, people respect them a lot more.

EDIT: And that reminds me, last year I had a friend jokingly point an unloaded gun at my gf at the time, I think his face is still fricked up. I whooped his arse black and blue.

Jo, have you ever owned a gun or shot one?

No never have even held a gun, I admit it. But I have never smoked either but know enough its disgusting. (Not related subjects). I just worry about Peter Griffiths types in South Boston flying off the handle. Every wants this clown dead so you know the vigilantes would have an itchy finger. hell I would too.

Why is this always the case with people who are for gun control... Don't you think you should at least experience them before passing judgement? I swear if everyone crying for gun control would realize just how hard it is to learn to actually hit something with one from farther away than 10 feet, the story would change dramatically.

Think about how dumb your original statement was. Out of those million+ armed citizens about .1% of them would be considered "responsible" anything much less gun owners.

How can you say that?

Legal gun owners have historically proven to be so incredibly responsible with guns that it is statistically off the charts.

For clarity:

I did not say hand out guns today to all Bostonians.

I said if Bostonians were legal gun owners... ie, if they had permission and sought to buy and learn to use a gun.

You know, like the way it's done now.

I didn't take it that you wanted to give out guns. I thought you meant if they had them and were trained. I would say 99% are responsible. So that 1% of 1,000,000 would be a thousand armed nuts.

Think of it this way....

Remember what the crazed cop did out in California a few months ago when he was fed up with things. Now look at what's happening in Boston this week. One person has the entire city on lockdown.

Now imagine what would happen if true American patriots get fed up with things when they come for our guns.

It is common to be scared/ apprehensive of things that you have no direct knowledge or experience with. Look at cars, knifes, etc. There are all dangerous when used irresponsibly or not respected...

The longer this goes on, the worse it looks for the need for 2 Billion rounds and 2700 MRAPs.

No, not all of us. I have no desire to "blow this wacko away" or any wacko. (And I say this as someone who thinks a properly applied death penalty is just.) If I were in a situation where I needed to shoot someone to protect myself or others I would do it, and wouldn't feel guilty about it after the fact. But I certainly would not get any enjoyment out of it.

It is pretty telling that someone who is so in favor of disarming people via gun control is also so enthusiastic about killing someone.

Perhaps the fear of other people having guns is a result of projecting fantasies about "blowing people away" onto others.
