I just watched his soph highlights (couldn't find junior year) and came away very impressed with timing, accuracy, and mobility in the pocket for a sophomore. I know his head coach and will try to get a feel for what Rudolph is thinking about recruiting

So what's the downside to Rudolph? What are his weaknesses? I see he put up pretty good numbers last year. He's got good size. Yet, the recruiting services don't like him much.

I didn't see him go through any progressions. He would just lock on to the primary receiver and wait until he came open. The only times he threw to secondary receivers were when he was chased out of the pocket.

I would expect that coaching at the college level woould teach him how to overcome this, but it was something I noticed.

Really? Because i did notice him going through progressions. The only problems i see are questionable arm strength and holding the ball too long, while going through progressions.

LSU leads. Could care less what recruiting services think, he's a stud.

Agree. ESPN likes him even though that doesn't mean much to me. He'll rise imo.

This is the universal weakness for any LSU QB from people that post on the Rant and here.

If I had a dollar for every time I have read "He stares down his WR's".......

I wouldn't be able to keep up with it, I'm driving in today for the spring game. If someone starts it I can help them with the startup info

i dont think they have any junior film on him. probably why he is ranked low. rettig was low like this last year then once you commit to lsu and go to like one camp you shoot up 100 spots

His junior film is all private on hudl.

Doesn't that mean only coaches can see it? He's been visiting big time school.

I wrote him off as being a Peyton Manning type QB after seeing him listed at 6'4 and Pro-Style. I couldn't have been more wrong. He isn't a speedster by any means, but he moves well for a big guy. I was really impressed with his movement in the pocket. The only "knock" on him that I can see is that his throwing motion starts from his hip. I could care less, though, because he throws the ball with good velocity and a tight spiral.

ETA: I mean a QB with basically no mobility when referring to a "Peyton Manning type QB".

quality prospect with good upside. after a couple of years with Cam and Moffit he could become something very special.

if he has "the chest"....I want.

get better.
