No High School has ever had teammates drafted in the first round of the NFL Draft in the same year, according to Derek Ponamsky on Sports Today.
Both Eric Reid and Eddie Lacy are invited to New York.
And to think they could never get very far in the LHSAA Playoffs. Nice work, Benny.

Are you saying this has never happened? I don't have an example, but one would think this would have happened prior.

In the same year? Possibly, I guess.

But not the first to ever have two first rounders. Plenty of HS have that.

I doubt it has happened. The likelihood of two kids with that talent born the same year and attending the same high school is minute.

I edited to say that's what Ponamsky said. He said he checked with Greg Aiello of the NFL. Hard to believe its never happened before.

Gotta figure it has happened, but maybe not.

Glenville has had Teddy Ginn and Donte Whitner drafted in the first round. 06 and 07. They were HS teammates though.

Reggie Bush and Alex Smith

The Manning brothers

I'm sure DeMatha or Mater Dei has had multiple. St Aug in NOLA.

But same year is a different animal.

Yeah if it has I would think it would be from a school like Dematha that recruits nationally.

What a success story Lacy is to barely being able to read to magically qualifying for Bama, to being in the NFL. You see people, cheating DOES work!

I saw something on Facebook that the Dutchtown coach was trying to find out if they were the first high school teammates to be invited to the draft together, not sure about the first round part

When I was in high school, we had 2 guys (in the same grade) on our bball team who were both ranked in the top 25 in the country. One went straight to the NBA (and has had a nice little career so far) and the other went to college, but had some issues and fricked up his knee pretty bad and then went to play oversees.

So while they didn't do what you asked in the OP, it's not crazy to think if they had both gone to college for 1 or 2 years (and stayed healthy) they could've done it.
