I want to take my family but have never been to Hoover. I want to buy General Admission seats but it seems like a first come first serve basis at the game. Is this the case? If I buy my ticket book for all 9 sessions, am I going to have a hard time just wanting to watch LSU or will I have to be there way early? Can someone spread a little light on the subject? TIA

Bama was the only team that made it difficult on tickets, since there having on OK year there will be plenty of tickets available for every game.

It's hard to plan though because most fans wait till later in tournament to go.

If you do that you risk LSU losing earlier than normal.

Keep in mind format has changed a little, first day is single elimination than it turns to double elim until sat when it goes back to single elim semifinals.

It's easy to find places to sit even if auburn or Alabama are in attendance. I also wouldn't buy the whole books because tickets are easily available. We've had people give us the rest of their books when their team is booted from the tournament. Then you just find a nice spot to rest your butt for the game.

We would just buy single tickets at the box office a few hours before the game for our first two games and then play it by ear afterward.

Thanks for the info, I was just about to pay 76 dollars for 6 tickets. May want to reconsider.

I've never made the Hoover trip, but this is how it was at the Blatt in Omaha too.

Same here. I guess I see why people buy books so that they feel comfortable with knowing they have a seat, but there will always be tickets available for the tournaments.

I made my first trip to Hoover last year.

Just buy Dr. Pepper Six Pack tickets. They are general admission to a session, but you'll be able to sit where you want. We sat with feet on LSU dugout for all Tiger games with them. More than anything else, most people try to sit in shade (upper grandstand or third base side in afternoon).

Click on Dr Pepper Six Pack on Drop Down Option

May be more difficult, and you'll have to sit down the line, if Bama, Auburn, or State make it to the semifinals or finals. But even then, you'll just need to arrive early.

My only problem is trying to convince the old lady that we will get tickets there. We did this once for a football game and wound up near heaven's purly (sp,,) gates watching through two sets of binoculars. I still her bitch to this day.

Explain to the wife that this is BASEBALL. I promise, seating is not a problem, especially mid-week.

Teams like Kentucky and Vandy will bring very few fans, other than family of team. Even South Carolina last year had very few.

Thanks Goose, looking at the schedule, if LSU stays as the #1 seed right now, they would play on 22 May (Wed) at 4:30 PM against the winner of the #8 vs #9 game. This would send them to Game 12 playing the winner of game 8 on Thursday 23 May with a 30 min start after the 4:30 game.

You can get a general admission and sit on the front half way down the lines. I have never been to a Thursday or Friday session where it is packed and I live ten minutes from the park.

General admission is the way to go, especially with kids. It gets hot for the afternoon games and you can sit in the shade. I've been to many tournament games at Hoover and only once had a problem getting tickets, that was an Auburn vs. Alabama night game.

General Admission! No problems.

I recommend the pulled pork nachos.
