Did TM7 inadvertantly throw LSU under the bus for testing

This isn't a thread about TM7 being liked or not/NFL good or not, etc, etc, etc

I was wondering if there is an NCAA "rule" on failed drug tests and a player remaining eligible.

It sure seems like 10 would be more than the most liberal interpretations would accept.

Can LSU get into a negative situation by TM admitting he failed more than 10? What about LSU's own internal rules?

he didn't say when the tests were taken. For all we know 7 of them could have been after he was suspended.

Im tired of this shite, but no. He broke LSU and team policies, not ncaa rules. He said LSU tried to do all they could to help him with his problems.

It was a statement by some assistant that wouldn't even put his name out there.

LSU is not getting "in trouble" for some BS hearsay statement.

He also said in an interview that the failed drug test happened while he was getting treatment so I doubt he was referring to only LSU administered drug tests.

Do you really feel the need to post this in every thread about a former player?

My guess is after one game suspension against Auburn back in 2011, he probably failed numerous ones in the offseason leading up to 2012.
Hence, that's when he was suspended for the season.
After his suspension for the season he may not have been subject to testing by LSU at that point.

LSU has some of the most stringent testing policies in the NCAA. If the university let Tyrann continue to play knowing full well of his drug problem and then this came to light during draft interviews, I could see it being an issue. I've always applauded the manner in which coach has handled these issues. No one player is bigger than the program and he is not afraid to make that known.

This thread covers several things that are tired and "played out".

1) The term "throw under the bus". One of the oldest and tiredest message board clichés.

2) TM7. Played out. Hasn't suited up for LSU in a year and a half. Let it go.

maybe in your world...in mine, he will always be a Tiger and one of the best who ever ran through that tunnel.

how utterly ironic that you mention one who consistantly preached "forgiveness." obviously, you have no clue what "the love of Christ" means.

get better.

Actually if LSU didn't enforce its three strike rule, even if it is more stringent than NCAA rules LSU would be subject to NCAA sanctions for not following its own policy.

I like TM7. If I was female, I would make a baby off him.

This isn't about TM7 directly, my point is to ask what are the guidelines with failed tests with the NCAA and LSU itself. And, if the NCAA takes notice, could LSU inadvertently get in trouble because of the comments.
There have been many investigations started because of players no longer in a program who admit to rules violations. You realize the Ohio St situation was basically started be a tweeted (i think) picture of one of the tattoos a player got and him explaining why it was free.

This is the kind of information I had no knowledge of and why I started the thread. I would hate for the NCAA to begin sniffing around LSU because of these comments when we are on the verge of one of our best ever recruiting classes.

There are schools out there that would benefit by LSU getting investigated about this crap.
