If I want to let my dog ride on the damn hood that should be my choice. Shouldn't be laws on this shite.

the problem comes in when other people's negligence can cause someone harm. I may be way off base here, but I would think that if a dog jumps out the back of a truck and causes an accident, there would need to be a law stating it was required in order for the driver of that truck to be found negligent. Also, you can thank the insurance companies for the seatbelt laws. It has nothing to do with the government attempting to save lives. It's about reducing risks so insurance companies can make more money.

I can agree with that. Most likely insurance companies pushing this.

you would be wrong. the basis for negligence is the failure to act as reasonable person under the circumstances.

this is another one of those useless, "feel good" laws that our legislators continue to waste time on and we continue to allow them to do it by sending them back every election. it's crap, plain & simple.

Saw I guy driving north on I-55, in MS of course, pulling a horse trailer with an Australian Shepherd just standing on the tool box.

If the dog is tethered or in a crate how are they supposed to get beer out of the chest and bring it to me through the back sliding glass?

Some dumb arse folks in this thread!

BTW: 31 didn't vote, what are we paying these suckers for?

I'm about tired of all these cocksuckers trying to tell me how to treat my dog. If I want to shoot my dog I will do it. If I want to put the sonovabitch in a 14 karat gold kennel I will. If I want to let him run free without a leash and chance someone shooting him as a stray that's ok too. Just don't tell me what's best for my fricking dog.

Unless it's a pit bull. They should be eat lead for every meal.
