Is it worth it at that price?

I have been holding out because of all of the problems with the game but man I love Sim City and right now on GreenManGaming.com it's on sale for $49.99 and using coupon code GMG20-GGN5D-FC3NA brings it down to $40 then you can choose to get a $10 GMG coupon for your next purchase or $7 cash back.

That would make it $30/$33 depending on which you choose. Is it worth it at that price or is it best to still stay away?

They really did screw up on this one though. Even the strongest EA defenders can't deny that.

Don't encourage EA!

At least that's what I've used to rationalize not buying SimCity 5. I've owned every edition prior.

You can reach population cap of 1.8 million in a city with no sewage, electricity, or water.

just set taxes to 0% and suddenly your sims do not require any infrastructure.

cool sim, EA!

Wait until its $29.99 flat. It is absolutely not worth it at any price higher than that, and I'll probably not buy until its $19.95.

and ive probably logged more SC4 hours than anyone on the board

Farming Simulator 2013 >>> any 'sim' ea could manage to shite out

to answer your question though,
from what ive read its really awful. Aside from the no infrastructure thing, you have to rely on neckbeards that are nearby your city, for trade.

The only game on metacritic rated lower than Sim City is The War Z

how awful must the War Z be... jesus

You need to look up video reviews of that game.

Serious questions: what's different about each subsequent version of SimCity? Do they let you choose different locations or something more?

MJ,
i dont know. The 2013 Sim City somehow has less features than the 1992 sim city.

AI pathing is terrible
not even really a simulator (1.8 million people in a city with no power, water, or sweage)
cant play offline
cant mod
server often shits itself and loses your progress

i guess.. the graphics are better. yay?

oh, wait.. the DLC for sim city 2013 includes advertisements for the Nissan Leaf. Basically EA is trying to use Sim City as a marketing tool to get ad space from other companies.

WTG!

yeah they removed features and enhanced the graphics, thats it. this version is at best a beta, at worst a $9.95 stand alone.
some of what they took out is on purpose to sell expansions and dlc. some of it was sacrificed for the good of "glassbox".

I don't know man, you might do pretty decent population wise with absolutely 0 taxes.

Not worth it. Wouldn't pay more than 15-20 for it.
