Why hasn't LSU ever claimed the 1908 NCAA football championship?

We were undefeated and recognized by the NCAA.
University of Pennsylvania (which is the only school to claim it) and Harvard each had a tie.
Since the weaker schedule arguement doesn't fly these days..... That would give us one every 50 years.....Just curious.....

I agree. We should, even though the football climate during that era was totally different, the 1908 team earned it.

1908 was a great year. Industrial revolution. Invention of airplanes and cars. WW I was still a ways off. Ah, those were the days.

No football title is recognized by the NCAA unless you are talking about fcs, div 2 and 3.

There was a big scandal that year. A player was accused of accepting a horse to play. Lsu was ruled inelligable.

All you saying we're not Bama, you do realize 1908 is a legit title right? Bama gets most of the flack for shite like their 1941 claim,

Because we aren't like Alabama, self-conscious and desperate for other people to verify our greatness.

We know we are great and we don't need a banner from 1908 to prove anything.
