I have never had anything as badly cooked, put together, or presented as this piece of trash. I'm very easy going and not picky at all. I don't complain about bad food and usually just chalk it up to "oh well, next time I'll know better." I have never had ANYTHING this tasteless and bad in New Orleans. I was really looking forward to this and after this experience, didn't order anything at the FQF and went to a restaurant in the Quarter. I know Jacques Imo's is usually dependable, but why serve something when you can't do it right? There is no way they couldn't know how bad the product was. Anyone have any great things at the fest? A lot of people said the Duck Poboy was great, so it makes me wonder if the increased volume of Saturday affected the quality. Anyone have it today and think it was good? Not pissed, just disappointed. I'll get over it though.

Was it on a hoagie roll with sesame seeds?

I should have. It only would have helped my case. Sloppy, overcooked, and bland.

Nope. Just small, chewy, french bread.

Didn't have their poboy, but had their alligator shrimp cheesecake and it was pretty good. Not groundbreaking, but good.

when I get something I don't like at a fest I trash it and get something else.

I don't even try to finish all the big items. I like to try the food there. You did yourself a disservice by giving up on the fest food.

I agree. I was just so excited to have it and it was so bad I lost the will to wait in line for anything else. Never had a bad experience at the Fest before and I'm sure it was a one-off experience. Drank a lot after that and needed some stodge so we headed to Port of Call and had a burger.

Surprising. I have always liked it at Crabby Jacks.

Muriel's in the best in Jackson Square. The best food is in Woldenburg though. The cochon de lait, Vietnamese stuffed chicken wings etc

Could not gather the will to work my way through the crowds there. Did it last year and regretted it. I think I may have reached my saturation point with wall to wall humanity at festivals.
Speaking of Cochon de lait, the Jaques-Imo's Duck Poboy was like a 3-D copy of the cochon de lait poboy at Jazz Fest without the good taste and everything.

I for the life of me do not understand 1) people actually going to festivals for the food and 2) people actually BITCHING about the quality of certain food from a tent at a festival ...

I just do not understand it at all

Meh, FQF and Jazzfest have some pretty damn good food. Nothing wrong with eating at some of these. It isn't like this is some BS carnival with hotdogs, turkey necks, and cotton candy.

I understand and they serve a purpose BUT in no way shape or form can the restaurants produce the same quality of food at a fest than they can produce at their restaurants. I would much rather just go to the actual restaurant than for them to serve me from a crowded tent

It really depends on what the food is.

And in some cases going to the restaurant isn't an option.

I don't think most people expect the food to always be as good as the restaurant but I also don't think it should be ok for the food to be as bad as the op described....if it was really that bad. I don't think it's unreasonable to not expect to be served slop.

The Jazz Fest food is just part of the experience for me. I don't go specifically for it but it is part of what makes Jazz Fest special for me.

This. I wouldn't have ordered that at FQF just b/c it's easy to get any day of the week.

I usually always pick up a Duck Poboy and they are usually pretty tasty.

Do yourself a favor and pick up the Crawfish and goat cheese Crepes from Murials

Also why is Palm St Snowball charging $5 for a Medium snowball with condensed milk?
