Okay. What was Robb's wife like in the book, only up to this point?

Honestly, him meeting her and marrying her happened off page. He literally just "shows up" married to her. The story goes that he was wounded in battle and she helped nurse him back to health. She comforts him in a time of need (I don't think I can say what time just yet) and in his "grief" he sleeps with her. He then marries her to protect her honor. In the book her name is Jeyne Westerling.

So whatever "time of need" this is happened in the book past tense but TV show future? I'm not following the chronology.

I think you can ask a book question but it's limited to what we've seen up through the show and any answer can't expand on it too much if it's super sensitive. At least that's how I took it.

Sounds about right to me. I don't want to spoil the show for anyone, but I do want to be more open in our discussions than the more strict limitations desired in the pure nonreaders thread.

Book and TV show past. In the book, she nursed Jon as he was recovering from some battle injuries and they supposedly fell in love, though this info all comes from secondhand accounts.

Eta: I guess I just repeated what belle said and I'm not completely sure as to the specific time of need belle referred to. Was it the news of Bran and Rickon supposedly dying in Winterfell per Theon's ruse we saw on the show already?

I think she would have said so if that were the case. I don't care enough to pry.

Is Joffrey the same pouty little bitch in the novels? When he was trying on the clothes last week and snapped "No flowers..........I'm the king" I busted out laughing. They are going out of their way to make him the most vile, childish, scrawny bitch they can.

Joffrey is pretty much the same in the books. The actor is doing a great job.

Yeah. I didn't want to expand any further because I didn't think they specifically expressed to Robb like they did in the books that they were "dead". I think the notice they received just said Winterfell had been sacked on the show. I didn't know if that was too much "book info".

non-readers who are familiar with the Lannisters Honey Pot. Do you feel that seeing it took anything away from the show? Or did it help you to better pay attention to subtleties?

I see people calling it a spoiler, when it is a theory based on characters in the show. Mainly one who does not even exist in the books.

I'm kind of clueless to how scenes from the show that point out actions and dialogue that most have missed constitutes a spoiler. JB Bama.

I think the Honeypot theory has actually made me want to observe/pay closer attention to subtleties. Although, I was skeptical to begin with of "Talisa" and how she popped out of the middle of nowhere. Guess it shows that even the Stark men have lapses of judgment and think with what's down there than in their brains. I bought book 1 for my Kindle but I'm not going to attempt to read it until finals are done in a few weeks. I should've probably done what some people I know do: read each book right before each season (i.e. have book 3 read before season 3, but not read the other 2 just yet).

This really needs to be unanchored. It really is a good idea.

I have RA'd for a sticky since there is no option to ask for an anchor to be removed.

Note to admins: not really looking for a sticky, just anchor removal. Thanks
