Could offer sheet be coming for Saints RFA RB Chris Ivory? He visited Jets Friday. Compensation would be second-round pick

That's from Jets beat writer.

As much as I like Ivory, if we could get the 39th overall pick for him, I am all for it

Would be awesome.

Ingram better still continue to step up even after he's gone.

The Jets are attention and headline whores. Probably nothing to see here. The fact that he ends it with a question mark means that he has no inside info about an offer coming and he's just throwing shite to the wall and seeing if it sticks. The Jets do this all the time.

You dont jerk around with visits with RA's. If he did visit then they are truly interested. The jets are thin at RB.

While I agree with this, bringing in a player like Chris Ivory is not headline news to anyone besides Saints & Jets fans. So, I think there is a little more to it then trying to see what sticks

Hopefully we work something out with them to get a pick.

I'd let him walk for a 2nd round pick

I would be happy for Ivory to get a starting gig
For any team except Falcons!

2nd round pick is way too steep. Jets may think they can swing a trade with the Saints to get it done for less compensation

That's exactly the case. The Saints did the tender to not lose him for nothing. Everyone knows that no one is getting a 2nd rounder.

Think 6th or 7th. Anything more would be a major coup for us.

I agree that it won't be a 2nd, but I don't see us letting him go for a 6th or 7th.

They will. That's what he's worth.

RBs are pretty worthless. They tendered him as a 2nd because the only other choice is to tender him at the round he was picked: undrafted, which leaves no protection.

They wanted to get SOMETHING out of him.

If the offer is a 6th or 7th round pick they should just keep him. Historically that's the same as just giving him away.
