Skip is LSU baseball, long overdue. That's including what I think of him as AD.

for a second I was worried they were going to drop the name alex box, but then I realized they are just renaming the field. While the official title may be skip bertman field at alex box stadium I will still only call it alex box stadium but a good honor to skip none the less.

Like, as long as there's a "Carl Da Cat Concourse," "K-Lady Railing, "Birdman Burgers," "Coon's Corner Corndogs," and a "Scotty from Olinde's Manda Spicy Sausage Po-Boy..."

Other than my universal objection to naming things like buildings after people who are still alive, this seems pretty perfect. I mean, who else could you choose? Wally Pontiff, maybe?

I was thinking Bertman-Box Stadium or Box-Bertman Stadium. Either is appropriate and Skip is certainly worthy to share in the stadium name distinction. Without Skip we probably do not have the quality facilities, five national championships (could make a case for all six due to his legacy), national following, and unabashed love in Omaha for the Tigers.

Skip deserves every honor tossed his way for all the success he brought to LSU's baseball team. So, I am for it. However, Skip as the AD & as a person, as Ive hear stories over the yrs, is not someone I feel particularly warm & fuzzy about. But the comment bout him getting paid for his name...hit home in so many ways.
