In memory of my father

My father passed from cancer March 15th. I've never been one on tattoos but I feel it would be appropriate for this to be my first.
So I come to the fark board to see what type of ideas y'all might have for tattoo in his memory. All of my friends called him BDR ( Big Dick Rick) a nickname I gave him at a salmon fishing cabin in new york. His dob was 3-5-56. Not sure what I want but am open to any options. Our best times spent where in the woods chasing turkeys . Im open to a Turkey track in it.
TIA guys it means alot

Wow, I'm sorry for your loss. My dad is turning 60 pretty soon, and I couldn't imagine losing him this early on. Keep strong my man. Sorry I'm not a farker, but hopefully these guys can turn out something good for ya

I'm sorry man. I looked for a minute, but I couldn't find anything that looked right. Maybe an expert will look here shortly

Don't sweat what others say about tattoos. It's for something that means quite a bit to you personally.
You might want to generate some ideas in the interim so it'll give the guys something to go on.
Sorry about the loss of your father, although I must admit, he had one of the most badass names I've heard yet

I definitely want that in the tattoo, I mean that what he was in my phone as, that was his name to my friends.
My mother wasn't aware of it until my friends had a couple of Roberts Brothers calls made.with his picture saying RIP BRD and a photo of him in it. She asked what it meant and my wife told her. She laughed and said " That's my boy" because I was the one who gave him.the name saying " the apple doesn't fall far from the tree".
I appricate all if the kind words ajd hope none of y'all have to go thru what I have for many years. I will say if I find a winning tattoo here I will post.it and have it as my avi image from here on out

Here's something pretty simple
I'm sure a tattoo artist could work off the principle anyway

I think Mr. Tide has the right idea.
how about something like this?
The turkey tracks could be somewhat of a background (assuming it's a black tattoo) and the "BDR" will bleed through it.

And another. I personally like this one better of the two:
I'll save the .PSD to keep it handy. Good luck and let us know how it turns out once you get it done.

So sorry to hear of your loss. A quick Google search shows a million options. This site has some great stencils you could look at, buy, have a local artist tweak.
What an honor to have a son do something like this. I'd be flattered in the grave if my son did this one day.

I tried a quick one.

Sorry to hear about your Dad passing.I think it's great that you're doing something to honor him.I would think a Tattoo Artist would help you with the design.I lost my Dad when I was 28 and he was 56.I think about him every day as I'm sure you will think about yours'.
eta:My name is also Rick, but never been called BDR.

Looks great dude. I wonder how the turkey would transfer to a tattoo.

These are awesome thanks guys! Not sure where exactly I would like to have it I don't want anything big and trashy. Was possibly thinking about on my ankle or maybe shoulder. Thanks again guys, keep em coming if you have more!

Thanks. It wouldn't probably. Could probably make it transparent but this more of an example of what he could give to an artist if it was something he wanted to try.

Here is another idea. If you'll pick and choose what you like and don't like about the various designs and offer your own thoughts, we can get it to something you like.
I'm so sorry for your loss. You're very lucky to have had such a great relationship with your dad.

The ironic thing is that the tattoo artist is better freehand than we are with the computer

I gotta say, anyone that goes by the name "Big Dick Rick" and chases turkeys with his son had to be cool. Tell us about him. I'm sure he'd have appreciated some of the humor here!

Thanks, I hope there's something you can use.
