Found this little write up intriguing. Thought I'd pass it along. Know a lot of people are gonna disagree with a good bit. But it's interesting nonetheless.

He ranks the players in 7 tiers from 1. homeruns to 7. completely insignificant:

Also the order of how he ranked the classes:

Ranking the Draft Classes

1.) 2006

2.) 2008

3.) 2007

4.) 2010

5.) 2011

6.) 2009

7.) 2012

- Sedrick Ellis (1st round/2008) – Calling him a bust would be unfair, but I don't think it's farfetched to say Ellis has been the worst first round selection the Saints have had under Payton.

True.

While he was disappointing, it could always be worse.

Just think Jonathon Sullivan, he was a true bust.

- Mark Ingram (1st round/ 2011) - Given his high number of carries, it certainly appears the Saints want Ingram to be their featured back.

huh... funny comment to make when the guy has averaged 10 carries a game in his first two years.

Funny how the older draft classes rank higher. Almost appears as though the drafts look better once the guys developed.

I guess we've just had some tough luck at that position with injuries also. Ivory is a fuggin beast but he gets hurt all the time.

Ingram got hurt his rookie year but he still looked tentative at the beginning of this past season. I guess he did pick it up though in the middle of the season when Ivory started to get some playing time also.

Sproles has been solid and PT has done nothing to get his carries taken away but thanks to Ingram, he has. If Ingram goes out and averages 3.9 YPC again this year, I hope they cut his arse.

If he hasn't adjusted to this style of offense yet, I'm guessing he never will. I guess I'm just tired of all the folks around where I live saying "They don't use him right." It is super annoying. At least they acknowledge that our other backs don't seem to have as many problems as he does as far as getting into a groove.

That's a throw away draft. Only 5 picks and no 1st or 2nd doesn't give you much of a chance.

I still think Toon and White can be good players...time will tell.

Toon and White? How about Hicks who is looking like he can be a decent starting option on this DLine soon

I didn't include Hicks because I think he's already a good player. He contributed more than all the other rookies put together.

Chip Vaughn had everyone intrigued going into that draft but he didn't pan out due to Injuries and lack of break on the ball. He had speed but always seemed to be in the wrong place.

Yep...and it's not like it is was because of defensive scheme here. The guy was a bust everywhere he landed after he got his pink slip.

I was about to say, for not having a pick until the 3rd, we did pretty darn well. I have a feeling Hicks will really shine next year. Toon is the heir apparent to Colston and White showed his skills down the stretch last year.

- Patrick Robinson (1st round/ 2010) - I know a lot of people have given up on Patrick Robinson. I understand why, but I haven't. He's a big, physical corner that I believe can flourish under Rob Ryan.

a physical corner?

I do think he'll do better in this new defense though. He can run with anybody but he isn't the best at making a play on the ball.

I just remember that first game against the Panthers last year. PRob was just getting pushed around by Steve Smith out there. I felt embarrassed for him.

another game that sticks out was that Dallas game. Dez Bryant was taking him to school but PRob responded by making a play on a pass in overtime on a third and short. They punted, we got the ball back and won. For as rough as that game was for him, I liked that he dug down late in the game and made a play to help the Saints win.

Four players drafted in 2006 played immediately and made an impact. No development necessary. 2011 and 2012 classes have a lot of developing to do.
