I have a p226 "stainless" (even though it is black on black) in .40. I just can't find anything that I like as much as that gun. I have and have played with many others, but if my alarm were to go off at night, the 12 ga, the ar, the ak, the 1911, all get passed by for the 226.

I lucked into a good deal on a P229 elite dark chambered in .357 Sig with an additional .40 barrel. It is by far the best shooting pistol I have ever held. You should at least feel the black aluminum grips, they are really nice. The barrel swapping is a cool feature, but you can do that in other, cheaper guns now too. The one gripes I have is that it is heavy and the adjustable sights are absolute garbage (I have no idea why Sig went with adjustables I stead of fixed sights). It really is a great pistol.

Whatever one fits your hand the best in 357sig

The 357sig comes close to .357mag performance with 125gr bullets. There are also notable advantages to the bottleneck design with semi autos, the main one being a good increase in reliability.

The 357sig is the best semi auto self defense caliber out there IMO

229. You are a barrel swap away from .40 or .357.

I have 2 p226s and love them. They are extremely smooth shooting.

I also have the P229 Elite in .357 Sig. It really is a great gun and should be held by anyone in the market.

I just recently ordered a .9 barrel for it from Barsto which should make it more economical at the range.

I didn't think the .357 and 9 are interchangable. I know .357 and .40 are because the magazines and everything is the same.

not quite...at least on my P239 anyway...

the .40s&w magazines can run .357 sig but the .357 sig magazines cannot run .40 s&w

I'm about to buy a 9mm barrel(EFK Fire Dragon)and some 9mm magazines for my P239...mine is .40 s&w and I also have a genuine .357 sig barrel and can use my .40s&w magazines for it...

If you get the Barsto 9mm barrels many need to be fitted but that is part of the pricing IIRC?

If I were to buy a Sig, the only one that really interests me at this point is the 938.
