Any other examples

Electronic drums in the Hoosiers score, which is melodically great. Not enough to make me unlove the movie, but it bugs the hell out of me.

**and the electric guitar in the opening fight scene of Gangs of New York. Cmon man.

Didnt attack Costner, just said he is the Michael Bolton of the acting world..with a hint of David Hasselhoff.

The comments to Deniro at the end when he gets dragged away is actually a callback to earlier in the film, it's very fitting.

I'll agree with you on Graham though, he's an awesome Capone in BE.

Deniro was still very solid as Capone in that movie though. And like I said, the baseball speech is classic cinema and awesome dialogue.

It doesn't matter how awesome deniro is at any point in the movie. He's not Capone and it sticks out and yes,
he's definitely the fricking highlight of the movie. Loved untouchables when I was young. Watched it a couple of years ago and powered through it, not good IMO

Stephen Graham's Capone is auch an underrated character. 2 scenes stick out to me. The bully scenes and the ones with his deaf kid.

You realize this series of sentences makes no kind of sense what so ever right? You're basically just saying Deniro didn't fit your current idea of Capone and therefore no matter what he did in the role he sucks.

Not sucks, but it's not right for the movie. Costner sucked, deniro was miscast

He killed it in those scenes. I've been a huge fan of Graham since watching him in Snatch, he has great range.

Kudos to you nitwits. Attacking Mamet, Morrincone and Costner.

I did not attack Mamet or Costner. I thought they both did a fine job with the writing and the acting.

I think that the Score - yes, by Morricone - was out of place in parts - a lot of parts. When you bring in instruments that would not have existed at the time, unless it is orchestral music that has a classic feel, it seems out of place. Would you use electric guitars or synthesizers in Gladiator? No? Then don't use them in The Untouchables either. That is my point.

It isn't that the music is bad, it just doesn't fit the era.

The very definition of movie mediocrity.
