I have a baby due in 6 weeks. I have an opportunity to buy a game. For the guys with kids, would you rather buy a shooter or a sports game? I need to be able to pause at a moment's notice.

I have interest in both games, just looking for advice to push me one way or the other.

I don't play sports games, so I'd Bioshock. Just finished the first one and loved it. You can pretty much pause and save at any time as long as you aren't in a battle. Came in handy when my daughter would wake up from a nap and inevitably walk in and crawl in my lap.

bioshock because it's a better game and EA didn't make it

eta: although I do have a good friend who works on TW as a software engineer, so I guess it's ok if you give him money

As a father of an 11 week old, I can tell you your gaming is going to take hit, with a sledge hammer, to the face.

If the FPS is to play online and build up a character etc, I'd say go with TW. Aint no time fa all dat. If you just want to run campaign, I'd still go TW since you can play it longer if you do find time.

Thanks for the replies. I figured my gaming would take a hit. I just need something that I can pause, go help with baby and then get back to with no problem once shes settled. I like the mid round save feature.

I think I'm going to go TW. Between that and NBA2k13 I should have enough casual gaming when I have time. I'm pretty much saying bye-bye to online gaming

while Bioshock can be unforgivable if you quit out to the main menu and arent near a checkpoint (you lose progress in a zone; learnt that the hard way the first time), you can always just pause it and pick it back up whenever baby has been handled.

Plus, its an amazing game and its not made by EA.

GOTY or a EA carbon copy sports remake from last year that will nickel and dime you for DLC courses... id go with the Game of the Year 2013 but thats just me.

i've played more TW than anyone on this board and I'd go BioShock.

Reasons against TW14:
- again, is the exact same game as TW13
- only 3 new courses
- you DO NOT carry-over XP as in the past
- Nothing has changed as far as graphics or gameplay this year
- the courses you may have owned in the past, you have to re-purchase....again.

I'll be returning my copy for trade in value on Dead Island RipTide in 2 weeks. Shoebang, I'd sell you my copy for $25 if I lived in BR.

I've owned every single edition of TW since 2003.

I haven't played a TW game since 2009 or 2010 can't remember exactly. It'll all be new to me

TW it is. If it is terrible I will come here to eat some crow while KK watches.
I just think I'll get more mileage out of TW

I've got it and I haven't played a TW game since 06, I think it's pretty good.
