Stacked Washer/Dryer vs SidexSide Washer/DRyer

Looking at buying a house that has a laundry room upstairs (stacked only) and downstairs. Don't think it is necessary to have 2 sets of washer/dryers but trying to decide to go with one stacked upstairs or a conventional downstairs.

I would prefer the one set upstairs but I have heard bad things about front load washers. Any thoughts on this??

i've lived in places with both and didn't notice a real difference. whatever is more convenient for you should be just fine. Just dont get a shitty machine and you're good to go

I set of washer and dryer both up and down stairs would be awesome IMO

I assume you can get stacked that's not front load

Can you? Do you need some sort of step stool to put the close in the washer. I know they sell very small capacity combo units with the washer on bottom with a little dryer on the top but I don't want that.

I'm sure there are good stacked units but they have been garbage at every apartment I have lived in.

Too small and don't clean anything, then take forever to dry.

As I said, I am sure this has more to do with the apartments using cheap arse stacked units.

We have Samsung front loaders and they are great. You just have to buy the HE detergent, so it's a little more expensive. Stackable are fine, but usually much smaller capacity.

The washer is on the bottom and the dryer is on the top so no you don't need a step stool

My last apartments had a stacked washer/dryer and it was full size or very close to it. I had no complaints. Top load. Similar to this

the stacked that i have seen have the washer on the bottom as a top load and the dryer on top which is a front load

Had both. Makes no diffrence.

Both sets were very high quality though.
