I can't say Heart was better - but they were outstanding as well - the current lineup is solid, but the band remains all about Ann and Nancy.

Man!!! I remember vividly thinking about how washed up they seemed to me when I saw them at the Assembly Center 27 years ago.

You would be amazed at how good they are these days. I saw them in 89 and they were "meh".

Saw em in 2011 and 2012 and they were incredible.

Was it the Bad Animals tour? Because that was October 1987 - I only know this because I:

1. Was at that show in the PMAC

2. Part of the warm-up was they played an entire album of another artist - that album was Hysteria, that band was Def Leppard - therefore, I actually heard Pour Some Sugar on Me, for the first time, that very same evening.

If you got there early enough - you did, too.

Saw them on their Hysteria tour way back then. Tesla opened for them here in Bham. Love Tesla too, but I was very underwhelmed by their live performance. Def Leppard rocked it though.

No. It was definitely in March of '86. It was a Sunday night five days before the LSU/Purdue game in the same building in the first round of the Big Dance when we went to the Final Four. I remember Ann Wilson saying something about it and of course the crowd loving it.

I also remember being a little surprised to see some flyers in the bathroom for the Saxon/Armored Saint show at the Texas Club a few nights later, which was one I couldn't wait for. Now THAT was a HELL of a show.

Ah - that was the year before I moved to Baton Rouge - that must have been the Heart album tour (What About Love, Never, These Dreams, etc.).

Never saw either act live, but I always heard great things about their shows - I bet that was a hoot.
