Unfortunately I don't live in LA anymore and can't make it to games or feel the hype for the team. My question is, with this start and the way we are playing...I get the impression there is no hype from the fans. TD says a decent bit but I read of low crowds at the games. What's really going on down there?? Is the excitement there? I cannot be more excited for the potential of this team and how they are playing. It sucks cause I live in Vandy land and there are more other SEC fans of other schools around me so I have to keep somewhat of a lid on it.

Help me out guys..what's going on down there???

I am too. I get the feeling that a lot of fans are waiting for the "shoe" to drop or something.

Sunday pitching will come around and Jacoby WILL catch stride at the plate. Defense is playing great...Laird in center is a beast. Katz is hitting like its 1993 bats out there. Bergman is a first rounder that fell in our laps.

Its hard not to talk crap to my office full of Vandy and TN grads. I haven't been this excited about a crop of freshman since Chad Jones came for football.

They aren't sellout crowds, but dammit they've been plenty loud.

Same here. Can't help but be excited about this team. I expected us to be damn good this year, but they are exceeding most expectations to say the least. This team is damn good.

Also, Jacoby sucks and will never be good , don't talk him or Ross up. We need a DH for both of them.

I too am very far away right now and haven't been able to go to any games yet (except for Missouri, I managed to catch two of those games since I'm currently staying it east Kansas). However, I will be able to go to games at Alex Box very soon. I've watched nearly every game this year and I think this team can go all the way.

I wish I had more info on other SEC schools for you, but since I'm currently in Missouri land I don't have very much since they don't seem to really care. All the Mizzou fans I've talked to seem to have no knowledge on baseball. I guess it isn't all that surprising since basketball is their thing, but I still thought they would at least care somewhat about baseball. In the next few days I'll be going through Arkansas heading to Louisiana (going right through Fayetville), so if I stop there I might get to talk to some hogs fans and get some better insight on this. If I do I'll make sure to post it.

High season ends for a lot of fans in a few weeks and that always helps the crowds. Hard for me and my son to make games when he is playing or practicing at the same time as the Tigers.

Crowds seemed bigger the last couple years. Maybe we're just getting a late start this year.

In the first month many of us quietly realized this team as all the pieces. Watching live I knew it was our best team since 2009, even with all the freshman.

Was late ordering tickets for Friday's game...had to get the bleacher seats so i don't know why empty seats. People that have tickets and can't go can't sell them at stadium anymore. New policy..stupid

Weather has been chilly, which Louisiana residents don't like, but things are heating up, weather-wise and hitting-wise. Ross and Jones are rounding back into form at the plate. Friday-Saturday pitching is terrific. Sunday pitching remains a work in progress. Everybody hit KY pitching Friday-Saturday like it was batting practice. Overall, we're in fine shape.

The amount of freshman led to a lack of preseason hype. It's getting ratcheted up now with the best start ever talk and the weather turning. I predict a full box for the rest of the year.

I'm guessing you read one thread on here about attendance and now you think it's low? BTW, that "low" attendance was 7433. How many teams you think played in front of that many people on Friday night?

We'll easily lead in nation in attendance again this year.

Don't you know it was spring break, students have had 5 tests, 3 papers, 2 labs. The weather was cold, they played crappy opponents, people had crawfish boils to go to. Any other excuses I missed?
