Has there ever been a point in your lifetime where there wasn't enough gov?

Serious question, and don't base your answer on which party was in office. Was there ever a time in your life that you said to yourself "We need more government intervention".

Yes, when Roger Clemens was dominating MLB at his age I told myself...man where is Congress to get to the bottom of this? I mean, frick I pay taxes for a reason...

Exactly. Connecticut needed laws against murder.

Not in my almost 24 years of existence.

No. Worst disasters in my life were 5 hurricanes. Neighbors took care of neighbors. The president didn't fly in to look at the mess, hug a crying woman and hand out checks.

How, in your opinion, could gov intervention have prevented Sandy Hook?

Depends on what you specifically mean.

I'm sitting here right now wishing someone would pass a law giving me 5 million dollars.

Gun legislation and transforming classrooms into panic rooms, the latter of which would help stimulate the economy because someone would have to build the damn things.

37 years here and no. We could cut government in half and this bad boy would run itself. Same thing with the company anybody works for. Most are top heavy and would run just fine if you trimmed the fat.

I'm sure we can think of a multitude of diverse ways government intervention can prevent future school massacres. The NRA recommended putting an armed official at schools. Connecticut just passed really strict gun laws in response to the shooting. I know this, 20 children died in that school house that the government was operating. Seems like the government's responsibility to make sure that doesn't happen again.

Wow

Hopefully future murderers will think twice before they break these new gun laws!!!

They used the incident where the White children were killed to try and disarm law abiding citizens. Meanwhile, they said nothing about the 500 minorities killed last year in gun-controlled Chicago.

These are 2 very different ways of dealing with the situation. Security guards at a school I see no problem with, and can be labeled as no gov intervention at all. Passing laws that affect a whole state because of one freak incident can be seen as the gov overstepping it's boundaries.

I agree. We needed a government official standing in front of every one of those victims. Imo those kids and those teachers lives are much more important than any politicians career.

Make it two or three in case he wasn't using hollow points.
