David West will be a Free Agent this summer he's still putting up good # 17/7 on a good team. But he will be 33 next season.

LINK

J.J. Hickson is put up 13/10 this season and will only be 25 next season.

Both will bring much needed toughness to this team.

Hickson, as we need a center more than another 4.

Considering that we have absolutely no need for another PF, I'd go with Hickson because he can at least play a little center, but neither of them really fit our needs.

The thing that scares me with Hickson is that he's in a contract year.

West is ring chasing at this point in his career. He's not coming back.

I truly think PF is a position of need because I see AD as the Center of the future

It would be a mistake to rush this. Davis is obviously not ready to play Center full time and making him gain a ton of weight will only hurt him as a player. He might still grow an inch or two, but I don't expect him to gain a lot of weight this summer. If he put on about 5-10 lbs of muscle this summer, I'd be happy. That'd put him around 230, which isn't enough to be a Center full time.

If you look at guys like Aldridge, Garnett and Bosh (all the guys I compare Davis to), it took them years to be able to play Center (mid 20's). Even then, their best position was still PF. I don't get why the team would move an all star, franchise PF to Center. I'd rather leave him at PF and let him thrive.

I would consider Hickson more of a PF. He isn't that long.

He's exclusively played center this season

I just don't think that means he is a legit center long term.

Idk

He has 40 double doubles this year as a center. 6th most in the league, 4th best for centers

i'm usually not the "he doesn't play defense" guy, but hickson seriously doesn't play any fricking defense
