Well I have an 05 Chevy HD (gasser) thats paid for and has around 120K on it. No real issues with the truck to this point. (knock on wood). And I swore I would ride this one until the wheels fell off...but man all the bells and whistles and new truck smell are killing me.

For some reason I am wanting a new truck bad, and I am wanting a diesel. I like the looks of the 3/4 tons but I would also like to buy a travel trailer in the next year or two.

So OB talk me out of this new truck idea. Here is a pic of the ol girl...still looks pretty good.

I cant talk you out of it............im good for about 3yrs on a truck and I start getting that itch for a new one. Getting married has slowed that down as I am going on 3 1/2 yrs on this truck.

Here she is in all of her glory.

You're just getting broke in.

If you wanna stay gasser, get yourself a ford screw with the 5.0.

This. Diesel trucks will run forever. If you can stand not getting a new one, yours will be good to go for a long time.

Diesel math doesn't add up any more unless you are towing HEAVY loads all of the time.

I understand the desire to have the nice 3/4 tons that are on the market now, but the high initial purchase price high cost of fuel and fuel additive in some make it a bad choice. I tow a good deal and I could not justify doing it.

if the thought of a monthly note is not enough to back you down, then you're screwed...mine's 5.5 years old with 153k and no note, i will drive it into the ground, hell with a note

I have an 05 Diesel and if I had it to do over I would get a Gas engine. Cost of Diesel has gone up too far to justify it and will just continue to rise with new EPA regulations

I've got an 05 just like yours except diesel and navy blue. Love it and won't be heading back to the trough anytime soon.

Ha!! I've even got the Gadsden flag sticker on mine too....bumper though. Nice taste hombre.

Can't talk you out either I just bought a 2012 F-250 crew cab, long bed, FX4 Lariat with the diesel and camper prep package. My 2008 Chevy 2500HD diesel was giving me some trouble not much engine wise but it was just starting to fall apart on the interior.

Just don't look at the sticker too hard or you might faint...

Yes theres a dealer by the house with a couple of 2013 lariats f-250 with the 6.7 with 4x4 for 44k that was the Internet pricing. I thought that was a pretty good price

If the 6.7 proves to be a good motor I will probably end up going the ford route.

When i bought mine they had a xl work truck 4x4 diesel that had a sticker of $47k but they would come down to $40k. They went from $59k to $50k on mine. The 6.7L has monster power compared to a gas motor. 400hp and 800ft/lbs of torque. The 34" tires that came stock will let loose if you get on it.
