on shore, i would ride the levi road south and either fish the first big curve in the river or ride down a little ways further and fish one of the bridges. they have 4-5 bridges that cross the channel that you can go on. fish a shiner under a cork about 1.5 ft. bring a few poles and an ice chest with beer.
fyi, the area can get pretty populated early, so faster you get there, the better chances you have of staking a spot. i would go to the 3rd or 4th bridge.
should be able to catch a few sacs there. if it is slow, tight line a worm for some catfish. i have caught plenty of bass there around this time of the year, but have alwas beat the banks up via bateau.
eta: it is Ramah

Used to jig for sac-a-lait in the pits there with my pappy back in the day. Tube jig around tree tops.

Drive south and fish. Most people are out there catching sac-a-lait. Live shiners or beatle spins should get some bites. Best bass bait would probably be a white spinner bait. Check both sides of the levee to see which has better water.

hey thats no problem hauss, anytime.
good luck out there. last piece of info is, i would open carry a pistol if i were you(or whomever is not drinking). But then again i tend to fall on the paranoid/stereotyping/safe side. Never had any trouble there, but you will see what i mean tomorrrow.

Bunch of old guys and country folk out there every time I've been, not a ghetto vibe at all. Those locals are funny as hell to talk to. They have a different view of the world and some crazy stories in their heads if you can understand 1/2 of what they're saying.
And you WILL NOT see any of this
